I will explain the lack of motivation in most workplaces. It’s all a question of recognition and incentive. Most managers will take credit for other people’s work and not give the lower employees recognition for their contributions. You can have an employee who busts his/her ass for 20 years and never gets any formal acknowledgement, but another person who kisses butt all day gets an award.
Another issue is opportunities. If you don’t promote from within, there is no incentive.
Sounds to me that its just an indirect way of saying, “Do your work, or fuck off”….
