The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has praised contractors and freelance workers for providing ‘crucial services’ to cover seasonal demand. Temporary, contract and locum staff as well as interim managers are on the front line and have kept Britain working over Christmas according to the organisation. Recruitment professionals also play a major role in responding to the demand for highly-skilled staff in sectors like IT, claims the REC. The rec’s December Jobs Outlook figures showed that 22 per cent of employers believe that business is improving. This is a staggering 21 per cent increase since September. A spokesperson from the REC says there’s evidence at last that life is returning to the uks labour market. The feedback from recruiters is claimed to suggest that it’s becoming easier to place jobseekers into work.
